Portfolio Assessment

At the beginning of the semester, I aimed to get a better idea of what I wanted to do as a career. I wanted to know which university was the best pick for me and which university offers the programs that I need to succeed. After looking at a bunch of personality tests and career tests, I definitely know that I want to go into the medical field. My choices of what exactly I want to do has been narrowed down so it's much easier to search for the requirements. I have looked up the requirements for the careers that can be a possibility for me. This showed me that I would need at least eight years of post-secondary schooling.

I think in this class I have achieved a G. I've finished my assignments on time. Also, I have put in a lot of thought into my assignments since I know that these projects can aid me in the future. I have learned to use my time for efficiently. Although, sometimes I could improve on staying focused. I can also improve by commenting more on my classmates' posts.

With the variety of quizzes that we took, it gave me a better understanding of what I'm capable of. It showed me the compatibility between a career and my personality. In our 'Golden Future' assignment, it was nice to write everything down just in case I changed my mind in the future. It could show the development as well as making things easier to plan for the near future. When we were being the dean of a university/college, it gave more insight to the possibilities that are available to us. I think it was a clear representation of how curious we are as to what we can do for our future. After choosing the University of Irvine, it gave me a some what clear view of how much everything would cost. Since most universities are kind of similar, it gave an insight of the costs of other universities. It also helped me to know whether or not I wanted to stay close to home. Knowing that living situations can alter the price range, it could definitely change my choice of post-secondary schooling.

I think I've been pretty good at self-regulation myself in class. I've attended class on time. I could improve by going around to see if anyone needs any help. Usually, when I ask the people around me, they already know what they're doing. Although, I've finished my assignments to the best of my ability. 87%
I've used power points to show a bunch of my assignments with a partner or two. I'm not a big fan of prezi so I'd rather do a power point. My blog posts meet the criteria of the assignments and are available for everyone to read.  89%
I could definitely improve by contributing more to the learning environment. I need to spend more time and effort to comment on peoples' blogs. I've been pretty good in terms of sharing my ideas in small groups whenever we get the chance to. I've finished my assignments on time so they are available for the class to see and reflect on. 86%
Since I am interested to learn more about my future and the possibilities that are available, I've been paying attention into researching the different careers that I can go into. I am eager to learn about the many opportunities that can be available for me after high school. When we were doing the career cruising assignment, I got a better idea of the pre-requisites I would need to go into the medical field. Most of the requirements are the same for a variety of possible jobs in the medical field. 91%

 Overall, I think I deserve an A between 87-91%.

Employability Skills

Part one
My employability skills:
  Communication:
  • I can listen to instructions, if needed
  • I can communicate in a professional manner when speaking to customers or even a colleague
Problem-Solving:
  • I can think quickly on my feet and come up with a solution for a possible solution
  • I tend to do better whilst I'm under pressure so that can help with any problems that I may encounter
Team Work:
  • I can co-operate with a group full of several people
  • I'm willing to compromise to make things run smoothly
  • I know when to step up and show leadership but can also follow instructions given by someone else
Personal Responsibility:
  • I can separate my personal life with my professional life
  • I am organized
  • I can remain professional while I'm working
  • I can use my time wisely and efficiently
Part two
After taking the quiz, it is clear that I respond well to information that is presented in multiple ways. I can take information from multiple topics to further explain or understand something. The quiz shows that I can work well within a group. I can adapt to the opinions of others in group. My ability to plan and pay attention to detail can come in handy if I were to get a job that can allow me to use those skills. I show interest and put in effort into anything that I;m doing. I set personal goals for my self to ensure that I grow as a person and develop my strengths and weaknesses.

I could improve by using a more variety of mediums to show my understanding or even for explaining. I can also improve in being more confident, that way I can radiate confidence in my work to show that I can handle whatever is thrown at me. I could also improve my ability to cope with uncertainty.

If I were to be hired for a job, I bring the ability to work with a bunch of people. I can adapt to any situation and can think on my feet. I'm organized so that ensures that I probably won't lose anything important. I can compromise to have a positive outcome. I pay attention to detail and can explain effectively if I have an issue or concern.
